Mixed Media Tag Ombre Dina Wakley

Meihsia Liu Simply Paper Crafts Mixed Media Tag Ombre Dina Wakley

Hi, my beautiful crafty friends, welcome back for the new challenge. I hope you all had fun with our challenge last week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. This week, our theme is "OMBRÉ".

Definition: Ombré is a French word for a color with a shaded tone or varying tones. An example of ombre is a color that fades from dark gray to light gray.

As it is the first week of the month we are showcasing a particular brand/designer. This week we are all using products from the fabulous Dina Wakley! You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used!

Our guest designer is lovely Alison Bomber aka Words and Pictures for this month. Please visit Alison’s blog to see more of her fabulous creations and great inspiration.

I was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Dina Wakley Four Women Media Stencil and Tim Holtz Distress Paint to make the ombre effect on the background.

On the background of the tag, I first applied Distress Paint with Red then pink and yellow to create the ombre effect. The woman image was created using Dina Wakley stencil and Distress Paints orange and yellow colors. I drew the outline of the image using a black pen.

I distressed the edges of the tag using a distress tool. The edges of the tag was colored with Distress Paint Ground Espresso. The metal embellishments were colored using Distress Paints and pasted on the tag using Tombow Mono Glue. After I added the sentiment stickers, I dropped some Gesso and water mixture on the tag randomly. The yellow Distress Paint and water mixture was splattered on the tag as the final touch.
