Mixed Media Tag Background Texture Inspire



Hi, my dear crafty friends, welcome back to the new challenge. This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge our theme is "MAKE YOUR OWN BACKGROUND". I was inspired to create a mixed media tag using The Crafter's Workshop WHITE MODELING PASTE and Tim Holtz Flip Top Distress Paint EVERGREEN BOUGH Ranger on the background, and decorated it with Stamperia LADY VAGABOND LIFESTYLE Clear Die Cuts and Stamperia ATELIER DES ARTS Die Cuts.


I started this project with applying the modeling paste on the size 8 tag with a palette knife. I colored the tag with Tim Holtz Distress Paints for the texture on the modeling paste, then distressed the tag with Distress Ink Pad and Daubers. I outlined the edges of the tag with a black pen. 


I layered and adhered the die cut embellishments from Stamperia LADY VAGABOND LIFESTYLE Clear Die Cuts and Stamperia ATELIER DES ARTS Die Cuts on the tag. The metal hinge fasteners were attached on the tag. I added the sentiments with Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers and Label Stickers Thought to finish this project. I really love the the beautiful textured background on this tag and hope this project inspired you. Please join us this week and happy crafting!

Mixed Media Tag Live Each Day



Hello, my dear blog friends, welcome back to the new challenge. This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge our theme is "MIXED MEDIA". I was inspired to create a mixed media tag using       Tim Holtz Layering Stencil GRIME for the texture on the background, and decorated it
Stamperia Savana A5 Colored Wooden Shapes and Tim Holtz Idea-ology PAPER DOLLS MINI.


To start this project,  I applied the modeling paste over Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Grime using a palette knife on the size 8 tag. I colored the tag with Tim Holtz Distress Paints, then distressed the tag with Distress Ink Pad and Daubers. I outlined the edges of the tag with a black pen. 


The Stamperia Wooden Shapes were adhered on the tag with Tombow Mono Glue. I then attached the mini dolls and sentiments using Tim Holtz Small Talk sticker. The clip and key embellishments were glued on the tag. I randomly splattered some Distress Paint and water mixture to finish off this mixed media project. Your Power Art Journal Fun with Stencils



Hello, my dear blog friends, welcome back to the new challenge. This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge our theme is "FUN with STENCILS". I was inspired to create an art journal page using Tim Holtz Distress Archival Ink Pad GROUND ESPRESSO Ranger and Tsukineko 25 SPONGE DAUBERS Tools on Stamperia SAVANA RHINO Stencil for the image, and colored it with Royal Langnickel ZEN WATERCOLOR BRUSH Set and Zig PORTABLE GANSAI TAMBI 14 Colors Travel Watercolor Set.


I started this project with stenciling the Tim Holtz Distress Archival Ink Pad GROUND ESPRESSO Ranger ink pad using Tsukineko 25 SPONGE DAUBERS Tools over Stamperia SAVANA RHINO Stencil  on the art journal page. I heat embossed the rhino image and the sentiment with clear embossing powder and the heat tool. The rhino image was colored with the watercolors and I then applied a thin layer of Tim Holtz DISTRESS MICRO GLAZE. 


The rhino image were covered with text and number prints from Idea-ology REMNANT RUBS LABELED. I colored the background of the art journal page with the same watercolor set. The journal page were distressed with the Distress Ink Pad and the art blenders, then outlined with a black pen. I adhered four Tim Holtz Idea-ology MACHINERY HEADS on the corners the art journal page to finish off this FUN with STENCILS project.

Art Journal Page Splatter Spritz Seahorse



Hi, my dear crafty friends, welcome back to the new challenge. This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge our theme is "SPRITZ and SPLATTER". I was inspired to create an art journal page using Royal Langnickel ZEN WATERCOLOR BRUSH Set and Zig PORTABLE GANSAI TAMBI 14 Colors Travel Watercolor Set on the stamped image from Impression Obsession Clear Stamps SEAHORSE AND SHELLS, and decorated the page with Tim Holtz Idea-ology ENGRAVING LAYERS and Tim Holtz Idea-ology REMNANT RUBS LABELED. 

To start this project, I stamped the seahorse and background images from Impression Obsession Clear Stamps SEAHORSE AND SHELLS using Tsukineko VersaFine ONYX BLACK Ink Pad. I colored this page with watercolors and watercolor brushes. The seashell and treasure chest images from Tim Holtz Idea-ology ENGRAVING LAYERS were colored and pasted on the page using Tombow Mono Glue.
The edges of this art journal page were distressed with Distress Ink Pad and art daubers, then outlined with a black marker. I randomly added some text prints with Tim Holtz Idea-ology REMNANT RUBS LABELED. The sentiment from Tim Holtz Idea-ology LABEL STICKERS THOUGHT was adhered. I splattered the White Gesso and water mixture on the page, then Yellow Distress Paint with water mixture to finish off this art journal page.
