I was inspired to create a mixed media tag with die cut butterflies using Sizzix Butterflies Die on Corrugate paper from Tim Holtz Textured Surfaces.
I started this project with die cutting this size 8 tag using corrugate paper with Sizzix tag die. The background was colored with Distress Paints in various shades randomly. and the edges were distressed using a distress tool. I covered the alpha parts with Gesso then Distress Paint after the Gesso was dry.
The butterflies were added on the tag after die cut and colored on the outline. I also attached the metal flower and sentiment stickers on the tag.
For the last step, I splatter some Gesso and water mixture using a pen brush and dripped the mixture using a Drip Dropper from Faber-Castell tools.
I really enjoyed my new year so far and am ready for the new art adventure in 2017. Hope you join me and create your project with wings! Let's fly!
