Hi, my lovely crafty friends, I hope you all had enjoyed your weekend. This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, our theme for you is "It's a Dog's Life". I was inspired to create a mixed media canvas embellished with the die cut using Tim Holtz Sizzix Mixed Media 4 Thinlits Die and two cute dogs using Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp Crazy Dogs.
To start this project, I first applying a layer of crackle paint on this 4" X 6" canvas. After the paint was dry, I applied various shades of Distress Paints on the canvas.
For the texture on the background, I die cut the embellishments using Tim Hotlz Mixed Media Thinlits Die and cardstock, then glued them on the canvas. I distressed the edges of the canvas and the dimensional part of the texture using the blending tool and ink pads.
On a piece of white cardstock, I stamped the dog images and the sentiment using Simon Says Stamp black ink pad. The images were colored using Daniel Smith watercolor and a pen brush. After the dog, tennis ball and bone image were colored and cut out, I pasted them on the canvas using Tombow Adhesive Tabs for the dimensional effect.
Some sentiments were added using Tim Holtz Big Chat Stickers and Alpha Part as the final touch.
