Mixed Media Christmas Card Stitch Up

Hi, my beautiful crafty friends, I hope you all had a great weekend. Now, let's have fun and create for the the new challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. This week, our theme is "IT'S A STITCH UP" - real, die created or faux - simply add some stitches onto your creation!

I created a Christmas card this week with stitches on the background and using Tim Holtz Christmas Time Ephemera Pack and Idea-Ology Christmas Word Bands Findings to decorate the card.

To start this project, I trimmed the white card stock and made the 4.25" X 5.5" card base. On a piece of watercolor paper, I sprayed the Distress Spray Stain over Tim Holtz stencil with different shades to make the background pattern and colors. 

The sprayed watercolor paper was trimmed .25" smaller than the card base on each side and pasted on the card base using double side tape. I sewed the edges of the watercolor paper and the card base using a sewing machine. 

The photo from Tim Holtz Christmas Ephemera Pack was layered with corrugate paper and pasted on the card. I added more Christmas elements and glued a cute decorative deer that was colored with Distress Paint as the final touch,

This is my first Christmas creation for this year and I really enjoyed sewing with my sewing machine again after my last sewn project long time ago. I hope this card inspired you to create with us this week.  Happy crafting!

Mixed Media Tag Thank You IndigoBlu

Hello, my lovely crafty friends, welcome back for the new challenge this week! At Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, we would love to see your creation with "THANKS/ THANKSGIVING" theme. We are also showcasing products from the fabulous IndigoBlu Company. I was inspired to make a mixed media tag using IndigoBlu Dinkie Ink Splat Butterfly Cling Stamp on the background, and decorated it with the leaves using Tim Holtz Sizzix Fall Foliage Thinlits Die.

To start this project, I colored the background of the tag with Tim Holtz Distress Paints. The background butterfly image was stamped using IndigoBlu Butterfly Cling Stamp and black ink, then heat embossed with Ranger Clear Embossing Powder.

I stenciled some splatter patterns on the tag using Tim Holtz crackle paint and a palette knife over the mini stencil. The autumn leaves were die cut, colored and covered with the crackle paint.

I added more embellishments with the dimensional butterflies and the mini pumpkin. The stamped sentiment and Big Chat Stickers were attached as the final touch.
