Glittered Mixed Media Altered Frame

Hello, my dear blog friends, hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I've been very busy lately besides holidays, I plan to remodel my craft room since it seems smaller and smaller after two years. My husband and I've looked lots of ideas in different stores and hopefully will decide what in my craft room is going to be changed soon.

At Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge this week, we are sharing ideas inspired by a glittering New Year. I altered a chipboard frame with mixed media elements and various colors of glitters. http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=199868&u=865514&m=24698&urllink=&afftrack=

Glitter adds so much fun and special touch on many of my creations.

I started this project with a chipboard frame and applied the Gesso, modeling paste and distress paints on the background. The stencil and sequin waste were used with modeling paste to make the textures.

I love different colors and shades of Wow Extra Fine Glitter. The shaker/pour removable lid is very easy to use and helps to control the amount of glitter you want to add on the project.

After creating textures and adding mixed media elements and Prima trinkets on the background of this frame, I applied a thin layer of Glaze then sprinkled the glitter on it. Love the gorgeous finished look with those beautiful glitters.

Winter Party

Hey, my friends, hope you enjoy your Christmas and holidays.  At Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, we might be taking a holiday from challenges – but we’ve still got ideas to share. Today six of our design team members are checking in to share amazing winter projects.http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=199868&u=865514&m=24698&urllink=&afftrack=

I created a layout of my son Christopher's winter party.

It's always so fun to help with and join my children's school parties. I love to see all the cute smiling faces and those fun creations they made in the party.

The background of this layout was inspired by the winter and holiday decorations in Christopher's classroom, and it was colored with the mixture of acrylic paints and water.

I colored and heat embossed the circle wood veneer, and used the glue and glitter to make the tree and ornament wood veneers holiday colors.

There are also some embellishments such as buttons, gold Thickers, straw, patterned papers, and paper clip on this layout.

Hope you like my creation and are inspired to make something beautiful during the holidays.

Izink Pigment Ink with Video

Hey, friends, today I'd like to share some new fun inks by Aladine from Clearsnap. These pigment inks are amazing and I really enjoy playing with them on the background of my tags.

Here I used different methods to apply these inks. As you can see, there are different effects and results. And all of them are simple and awesome!

I have included a quick video to show you how I made these tags.

All these tags were cut with acrylic linen canvas paper in size 3" X 6". On the first tag, the background was colored with Izink inks and stamped with different layers of image.

The sentiment was stamped on the translucent paper and heat embossed. I also dyed the seam binding ribbon with Izink ink. I love the beautiful tie dye effect on this background.

To create the background of the second tag, I dropped various colors of Izink on the craft sheet and sprayed some water on the inks. Then I pressed the tag face down and slid it.

I also used blending tool and pigment ink to make the colors softer.

Izink is made by Aladine and distributed by Clearsnap. It's new and acrylic based pigment ink. Since Izink is acid free you can use on all your scrapbooks and hobby craft projects. It is opaque and will not produce a patina effect. You may also click here or video here to see the card I made using Izink to color the stamped image.

Hope you enjoy my creations and get a chance to try these great Izink Pigment Inks.

Have fun and enjoy your day!

Mini Books

Hi, there, I've received many gifts from my dear blog friends in the past year and I love them very much. Last week, I dug out some of these cute gifts and made four mini books. So today I'd like to share this simple project using these cute embellishments with you. You may find most of the supplies I used on Simon Says Stamp Shop, too.
I've combined different products on these four mini books including washi tapes, Project Life jouranl cards, dimensional stickers and Smash Pad, etc.

It is so fun to mix and match random papers and some cute stuff. The paper I used for these books is from Amy Tangerine Yes Please collection and the washi tapes are by Kelly Purkey from Simon Says Stamp.

 Love Martha Stewart star punch.

The vellum quote is from Colorbok.

I used report cover labels on some pages for journaling.

Some Smash notes were pasted in these mini books.

Love the cute patterns of the washi tapes.

For journaling, I use AC Precision Pen as always.

Punched the edges of some pages in the book.

The Plus Decoration Tapes are fantastic on any projects. Love those super adorable patterns.

Added some cute stickers.

Sticky note is so easy to use on any page for journaling.

Wrote some of my favorite quotes.

I also pasted some Pebbles Journaling & Quotes cards. Be sure to check these fun products at Simon Says Stamp Shop if you are interested in any of them.

Thank you so much for droppng by. Hope you all have a wonderful week.

Happy crafting!

Stamp Out 2013

Hi, my dear blog friends, this will be the final challenge of 2013 for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog, and I hope you’ll join us! The challenge is a simple one: Use a Stamp! Use any stamp -- Background, sentiment, big, or small – all stamping is welcome on our challenge this week!

I was inspired to create a mixed media canvas wall decor with my favorite sentiments.

I love the sentiments on Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamps because they always encourage me to create something unique and be myself.

To start this project, I prepared four 3" X 6" acrylic paper tags painted with black chalkboard paint on the background.

I stamped these sentiments with white pigment ink pad on the second tag from the left then stamped with watermark ink and heat set with embossing powder on the last tag. These white stamped sentiments look awesome with the contrast on the black chalkboard tags.

On the first tag from the left, I stenciled the swirl dot pattern with Colorbox Art Screen and modeling paste. I also used checker pattern duct tape on two tags.  Many Prima Flower metal embellishments were used on these tags too.

The background of the canvas were colored with Distress Ink and water. To make the dimension, I cut and pasted the foam board on these tags.

I really enjoyed the creating process of using these mixed media elements and love the contemporary look of the result.
