Mixed Media Tag Pet Friend

Hello, crafty friends, it's so great to see you come back. This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, our challenge theme is "Pets Corner". There are so many animal or pet themed stamps and products. I am looking forward to seeing your creation!

I used to have a West Highland white terrier, and I really love to have another dog. For this week's challenge, I created a mixed media tag with this cute Crazy Dog stamp and used Tim Holtz Layering Stencils.

To create this dog house tag, I stamped the Tim Holtz Wood Grain pattern on the kraft paper and cut the roof shape. The sun ray was stenciled with the crackle paint, then colored using Distress paints.

The background of the tag was stenciled using Simon Says Stamp Ink pad and Art Dauber over Tim Holtz layering stencil. I covered the tag with the crackle paint.

On another piece of cardstock, the crazy dog and the food bowl images were stamped with black ink pad, and colored using Koi watercolor and a pen brush.

To attach the roof on the tag, I used Tombow Mono Glue. Some metal embellishments and sentiment stickers were added on the tag. I distressed the edges of the tag with black ink pad and Art Dauber as the final touch.

Spread Wings in 2017 Butterfly Mixed Media Tag

Hello, my dear blog friends, welcome to the new challenge for Simon Stamp Monday Challenge. This week, Let's spread wings and fly! We challenge you to create something with wings in your project or you can interpret as starting a new adventure in your life.

I was inspired to create a mixed media tag with die cut butterflies using Sizzix Butterflies Die on Corrugate paper from Tim Holtz Textured Surfaces.

I started this project with die cutting this size 8 tag using corrugate paper with Sizzix tag die. The background was colored with Distress Paints in various shades randomly. and the edges were distressed using a distress tool. I covered the alpha parts with Gesso then Distress Paint after the Gesso was dry.

The butterflies were added on the tag after die cut and colored on the outline. I also attached the metal flower and sentiment stickers on the tag.

For the last step, I splatter some Gesso and water mixture using a pen brush and dripped the mixture using a Drip Dropper from Faber-Castell tools.
