Simply Paper Crafts: Mixed Media Tag Steampunk Stamperia

Hello, my friends, welcome to the new challenge. This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge we are challenging you to "Add Some Texture". As it’s the first Monday of the month we are showcasing a brand/company. This week we are all using some fabulous products from Stamperia. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

As you may know, the Simon Says Stamp Store is accepting new orders, but have longer shipping times for the moment due to the coronavirus. With this in mind we have made the difficult decision to suspend the $50 voucher for this challenge. We know that many people are staying safe at home and we would love it if you would continue to enter the challenges and have fun! We are all in this together!

I was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Stamperia Sea World 12 X 12 Paper with Tim Holtz Rock Candy Crackle Paint for the texture on the background and decorated it with Prima Marketing Machine Parts Finnabair Mechanicals and Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Mini Gears Sprockets.

To start this project, I trimmed the patterned paper from the Stamperia Sea World collection and pasted it on this size 8 tag. The tag was distressed using Distress Ink Pads on the edges. I applied a layer of Crackle Paint on the tag using a paint brush to the crackle texture.

The fish was cut out from the paper from the same collection. I distressed the fish using the same Distress Ink Pads and outlined it using a black pen. I also applied a layer of Tim Holtz Distress Micro Glaze for the glaze texture. The fish was attached on the tag using double sided tapes.

To finish this project, I adhered some gears and metal embellishments that colored with Distress Paints on the tag.
