Mixed Media Tag Whatever the Weather HOPE

Hello, my lovely friends, I hope you all had a great weekend. Let's have fun with the new challenge! This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, our theme is "WHATEVER the WEATHER". As it is the first Monday of the month we are showcasing a particular company or designer. This week we are all using products designed by the fabulous Tim Holtz. 

This week we are welcoming  the lovely and super talented Lisa Rabellino into the Designer Spotlight. Be sure to check her blog for all the awesome inspiration there. 

I was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Sizzix Lumber 3D Texture Fades Embossing Folder for the texture on the background and Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamp Pondering for the sentiment. To start this project, I embossed this size 8 tag using Tim Holtz 3D Lumber Embossing Folder, colored with different shades of Distress Paints and distressed it with Distress Ink Pad.

The sun ray background was created with Gesso and yellow Distress Paint mixture over a layering stencil using a palette knife. I also randomly added some Rubs on images on the background.

A sentiment were stamped on a piece of card stock and distressed with a distress tool and Distress Ink Pad. The vintage photo was from Tim Holtz paper stash. 

The fasteners and metal embellishments were attached on the photo and the sentiment to finish off this project. I really love the sentiment "HOPE IS NEVER LOST" on this whatever the weather theme and hope you got inspired, too. I am looking forward to seeing what you create. Join us and happy crafting! :)
