Mixed Media Tag B is for Be Unique Brutus Monroe

Hello, my talented friends, welcome back for the new challenge! This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, our theme is "B is for" - anything beginning with ‘B’  Balloons, Bears, Blue, Baby, Birthday, you get the idea! As it is the first Monday of the month we are showacsing a particular company and this week we are all using some fabulous Brutus Monroe Products  This is our first time showcasing his products and we have all fallen in love! his designs are awesome!

I was inspired to create a mixed media "Be Unique" tag using Brutus Monroe Clear Stamps Rockstar Pets and added sentiments with Tim Holtz Idea-Ology Tiny Text Remnant Rubs. The project was started with applying some modeling paste on the background for the texture of this size 8 chipboard tag with a palette knife. I then colored the tag using various shade of Distress Paints and Dylusion Paints over a set of mini stencils for some patterns. 

On a black tag, I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed it with the white embossing powder. The cat image was stamped with a black ink pad and heat embossed with the clear embossing powder. I colored the cat image with watercolors and cut it. The sentiment and cat image were adhered on the tag using foam tapes. 

I added some more sentiments with Tim Holtz Snarky Small Talk stickers and Tiny Text Remnant Rubs. The edges of the tag were outlined and distressed with brown and black acrylic paints and a brush pen. 

I really enjoy creating this "Be Unique" tag with this fun and vibrant color scheme, and this super cute cat image from Brutus Monroe. I hope this project inspired you to create something and join us this week!
