Mixed Media Box Inside the Box Bird Cage

Hello, my beautiful blog friends, welcome back for the new challenge! This week, our theme at
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is "INSIDE THE BOX". Before I share my project, let's welcome talented Cheiron re-join our design team. And it's the last week of Bonnie being our guest designer. Be sure to check her beautiful creation and follow her blog for more inspiration.

For the challenge this week, I was inspired to create a mixed media box using Tim Holtz Vignette Boxes Structures and decorated with Idea-Ology Botanical Layers Paperie. To start this project, I covered the box with Gesso and then Tim Holtz Distress Paints with various shades after the Gesso was dry.

Inside the box, I pasted some layers of flowers from Idea-Ology Botanical Layer paperie and I outlined the flowers with Copic black ink pen. To created the dimension, I used foam dots to paste these embellishments.

The cage and the bird were die cut using chipboard and Tim Holtz Cage and Bird die. They were colored with Distress Paints and pasted inside the box using foam dots. I added the sentiment with Chit Chat Small Talk Sticker. 

Some more flower and metal embellishments were added to decorate the box. I distressed the edges of the box using Distress Paints.

Mixed Media Tag Road Trip & Travel

Hey, my beautiful crafty friends, welcome back for the new challenge. I hope you all had a great time last week and enjoyed the beautiful spring weather. Our children had Spring break last week and we had a short road trip from Dallas to Shreveport LA for visiting some museums. For our challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Chalellenge, our theme is "ROAD TRIP".

This week, we are saying goodbye to our lovely and talented teammate Cathie. I've always loved the wonderful creations and great inspiration from Cathie, and I wish her all the best for her future.

I was inspired by our recent road trip and created a mixed media tag using Sizzix Mini Old Jalopy & Arrow Dies and decorated with Idea-Ology Foundry Adornment.

I started this project by pasting the Tim Holtz Motif paper on the chipboard and die cut it with Big Shot and Sizzix Tag Die. I distressed the edges of the tag using Distress Ink Pads and Art Daubers. I distressed the edges again using black Distress Paint.

The image of man with a car was cut from Tim Holtz paper stash and I distressed it with a distress tool and colored the edges with Tim Holtz Oxide ink pad. The antique car and the arrow were die cut, colored with Distress Paints and covered with Ranger Clear Crackle Paint. 

The metal Adornments were colored with Distress Paints, and the sentiment stickers were colored with Koi watercolors. I layered these embellishments and pasted them on the tag using Tombow Mono Glue and Adhesive Tabs. Some rub on sentiments, sequins and paint drops were added on the tag as the final touch.
