Mixed Media Art Journal Whatever the Weather

Hello, my beautiful blog friends, welcome back for the new challenge this week! I hope you all had great weekend. We finally had sunshine this weekend here in Dallas and we all enjoyed it a lot. For our new challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Chalellenge, out theme is "WHATEVER THE WEATHER". 

We are showcasing Tim Holtz Products this week. you don’t have to use them but if you have them we would love to see them used. Our guest designer this week is lovely and talented Bonnie aka My Stuff My Life. Be sure to visit Bonnie’s blog and check all her fabulous creations. 

I was inspired to create a mixed media art journal page using Daniel Smith Extra Fine Essential Watercolor Set on the background and decorated it with Tim Holtz Cling Stamp 2018 Theories. This journal page would remind myself no matter what day it is or whatever the weather is, always keep positive thinking.

This journal page was made of watercolor paper with the size 6" X 9". I first sprayed the background with Distress Spray Stain in different colors and used Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Rays to create sun rays. I stamped the small text image using Prima Read to Me stamp and black Simon Says Stamp ink pad. I added some yellow and blue rain drops using Daniel Smith watercolors and a brush pen. 

The Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp Theories was stamped in the center of the page and I stamped a beautiful sentiment on the page using Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp Ponderings. 

There are some sentiments were rubbed on the page. I colored a metal Butterfly and Foundry Adornments with Distress Paints and pasted them on the journal page using Tombow Mono Glue. I finished off this page with distressing the edges of the page using Faber Castell Big Brush Pens.
