Mixed Media Tag In My Garden Beauty in Simplicity

Hello my beautiful crafty friends, welcome back for the new challenge! I hope you all had fun playing with us last week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Chalellenge. This week, our theme is "IN MY GARDEN".  I was looking forward to spring and created a mixed media garden tag with a bird using Tim Holtz Sizzix Die Caged Bird and decorated with some beautiful flowers using Idea-Ology Botanical Paperie.

I started this project with die cutting the heavy chipboard using Tim Holtz Caged Bird, Tag and Bookplate dies and Big Shot. 

On the background of the tag, I stenciled the modeling paste over the Tim Holtz Mini Stencil using a palette knife. The tag was colored with Tim Holtz Distress Paints, and distressed with Simon black ink pad. 

The bird, cage and bookplate were all colored using Distress Paints, and outlined using a black Pigma Brush Pen. I stamped some text image on the bird image and distressed the book plate using Simon black ink pad. 

The flower embellishments were colored with Distress Markers. I layered these embellishments and pasted them on the tag using Tombow Mono Glue and Adhesive tabs for dimension. The sentiment stickers were pasted, and some splatter of Distress Paint and water mixture was added as the final touch.

Mixed Media Grunge Tag Keep Room for Heart

Hello, my lovely crafty friends, welcome back for the new challenge. I hope you all had fun with last week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. This week, our theme is "GRUNGE IT UP" - simply create a distressed or grungy look on your project. Be sure to check our guest designer Stacy's beautiful creation for this week's challenge.

I was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Tim Holtz black ink pad to distress the edges of the tag and decorated with Sizzix Heart and Gear die cut embellishments.

On this size 8 tag, I first applied the modeling paste using a palette knife to create the texture. Then I colored it with Tim Holtz Distress Paint and distressed the edges with black ink pad. The Gold embossing powder was sprayed and heated on the tag. And I stamped some random text with black ink pad and Tim Holtz rubber stamp.

I die cut the heart, gear and arrow embellishments using Tim Holtz die and Big Shot, colored them using Distress Paints and distress them with Distress Ink Pad. These embellishments were also heat embossed with clear embossing powder and a heat tool. 

I layered these embellishments and attached them on the tag using Tombow Mono Glue and Adhesive Tabs. Some Idea-Ology Remnant Rubs were randomly and Small Talk Stickers were added on the tag. Some Gesso and water mixture was splatted on the tag as the final touch.
