Hello, my lovely friends, welcome back for the new challenge! Our theme this week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is "Resist It" - simply create something using resist technique.
I created a mixed media ATC using resist techniques to make the background patterns with Tim Holtz Oxide Reinkers and Ranger Clear Embossing Powder.
To start this project, I cut this artist trading card from a piece of watercolor paper in 2.5" X 3.5" using a paper trimmer. The modeling paste was applied on the background with a palette knife to create the texture.
I applied various shades of Tim Holtz Distress Paints that coordinated with the color scheme of the bird and flower embellishments that I'd use on the ATC.
To use the resist technique, I stamped the dots image using Stampers Bubble Dots stamp and Simon Says Stamp Ink pad randomly on the background of the ATC, and embossed it using clear embossing powder and a heat tool. Then I applied Distress Oxide Reinker over the embossed area with a brush pen.
The flower, butterfly and bird embellishments were outlined using a black Faber Castell Big Pitt Brush Pen, and pasted on the ATC using Tombow Adhesive Tabs.
The clip was colored using Distress Paints and added on the ATC.

I distressed the edges of the tag using a Pitt brush pen and added some sentiments from Idea-Ology Big Chat stickers.
I really had fun using the resist technique to create the background colors and texture on this ATC. I hope this project inspired you to create and join us this week. Can't wait to see what you make!
