Mixed Media Tag Red White Blue

Hello, everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I just came back from my vacation to Mexico city and Cancun with my family. I really had a great time and was truly impressed by the nice people and great cultural attractions there. I'd recommend to who love fascinating ancient pyramids and of course the gorgeous beaches. 

For the challenge this week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, our theme is "RED, WHITE, BLUE". It will be Independence Day here in the United States tomorrow. We would love to see your creation using one or all of the red/white/blue colors.

I created a simple mixed media tag this week with my favorite quote using Tim Holtz Stamp Way with Words and stenciled the background with Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Harlequin and Mini Stencil Set 3. The tag was die cut using Tim Holtz Sizzix Tag Die and Sizzix Big Shot Machine.

To start this project, I first stenciled the background using Distress Paints and Tim Holz Layering stencils - the red paint and Harlequins stencil, and blue paint and Cargo stencil. 

The sentiment was added using Tim Holtz Chit Chat Stickers. I pasted the labels and attached the wood gear and film strip to decorate the tag. 

My favorite quote was stamped on a piece of white card stock using Tim Holtz rubber stamp and Simon Says Ink pad. I cut and layered the quote with corrugated cardboard. The tag was colored on the edges using Faber-Castell Big Brush Pen.
