Hi, my talented crafty friends, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, our theme is "BACK to SCHOOL". I was inspired to create a mixed media note holder using Sizzix Collage & Notebook Texture Fades Embossing Folders for the background and Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp Life Quotes for the sentiment.
To start this project, I embossed the chipboard as the base of the note holder using Tim Holtz Collage & Notebook Embossing Folder and Big Shot. The background was colored using Distress Paint with different colors, and distressed using Distress Ink Pads.
On a piece of white card stock, I stamped the sentiment, torn the paper and distressed the edges using Distress Pad. I also embossed two piece of embellishments, colored and pasted them on the note holder.
The metal embellishments were added on the note holder using Glue Dots. The sticker sentiment was attached to finish off the project.

Oh, I am loving this Meihsia, those vibrant colours peeking through in the background look amazing (what a great embossing folder!) and the pops of colour in your attached notes look wonderful. Love those 'screws' in the corners too! Hugs, Anne xx

WoW! The embossed pieces are amazing, I was wondering how you reached this beautiful background and thought it was a stencil or something, then I read you just embossed the panel. How cool is that? I love the way the distress inks colored the popping up elements and left the bottom ones white. So cool! Hugs, Marzena
