Mixed Media Tag Red White Blue Cat Darkroom Door

Hello, my beautiful blog friends, welcome back for the new challenge. I hope you all had a great weekend. The week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, we are celebrating Independence Day with the theme "RED, WHITE and BLUE".

It is the first week of the month and we are showcasing products from the fabulous Darkroom Door Company. If you don’t have any of their products, yet, that’s OK, you can still join in with the challenge but if you have some then please use them! Our guest designer this week is talented Karolina Bukowska. I was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Darkroom Door Cling Stamp Sitting Cat and added sentiments with Idea-Ology Snarky Small Talk Stickers. I really loved this cat stamp and wanted to make a blue cat sitting in front of the red brick wall. The funny sentiment in the Tim Holtz Snarky Stickers are exactly I think my cat Tiger would think almost everyday.

To start this project, I cut a 3" X 6" tag with heavy watercolor paper. The tag was stenciled using Tim Holtz mini stencil set 3 and the modeling paste with a palette knife for the brick background. I distressed the brick background and the edges of the tag with Distress Ink pad and a blending tool, then outlined the edges using a black brush pen.

The cat image was stamped with Darkroom Door Stamp and heat embossed using the embossing powder. I colored it using Copic markers with grey and blue colors. 

The cat image was layered with distressed corrugated paper and pasted on the tag using foam tabs. The metal Vignette Accent was colored with Distress Paint and pasted on the tag using Tombow Mono Glue. Some sentiments were added with Tim Holtz rubs on and Small Talk Stickers.
