I was inspired by Aesop's Fable The Owl and the Birds, and created a mixed media tag using Simon Says Stamp Birch Circle Wafer Die on the background and made the texture using Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint.
To start this project, I applied acrylic paints on this size 8 tag and distressed the edges of the tag using Simon Says Stamp black ink pad. I also applied a layer of Ranger Crackle Paint after the acrylic paint was dry.
On a piece of heavy card stock, I die cut the tree using Simon Says Stamp Birch Circle Wafer Die, then applied acrylic paint on it. There was also a layer of the crackle paint applied on the die cut embellishment after the edges were distressed using the black ink pad. I pasted the birch circle and the owl embellishments on the tag using foam tabs.
The letter alpha parts were colored using acrylic paints and attached on the tag using Tombow Mono Glue. I added some sticker sentiments and some Tim Holtz Rubs on. There were some random acrylic paint splatter and drop on the tag as the final touch.
I really enjoyed The Owl and the Birds story and had fun creating this mixed media tag using the new Birch Circle Die from Simon Says Stamp. I hope this tag inspired you to create your project and share with us! Happy crafting!
