Quick and Easy Mixed Media Christmas Gift Tag

Hello, my lovely crafty friends! Wow... I can't believe it's December already. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and let's get ready for the Winter and holidays! This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, our theme is "ICY INSPIRATION". Our lovely teamie, Maura, has created this fabulous mood board to use for your inspiration.

With holidays approaching, we all need lots of holiday cards and gift tags. I was inspired to create a quick and easy mixed media Christmas gift tag so that you can make many at once using Tim Holtz Layering Stencil Merry Christmas on the background, and featuring Paper Artsy Jofy Mini Lovebirds on the tag.

I started this project by trimming the watercolor paper into 3" X 5.5" tag. The background was colored with Daniel Smith watercolors and a pen brush. I stenciled the around the tag using Tim Holtz Christmas Layering Stencil and the blue ink pad. Around the edges of the tag, I dabbed the Distress Paint. After the paint was dry, I outlined the edges using Big Brush Pen with blue and black colors. 

The lovebirds image was stamped using black ink pad, and colored using Daniel Smith watercolors. I covered the word "Lovebirds"and the heart with white Gesso. Instead of the lovebirds and heart image, I added the holiday sentiments around the birds and on the birds with two different fonts.  

The Frozen Findings was colored with Gesso and pasted on the tag using Tombow Mono Glue. The flower and bells were attached to finish off this Christmas gift tag.
