Art Journal Mixed Media Coffee

Hi, there, I hope you all have a great weekend! This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, our theme is "FOOD or DRINK". I was inspired to create an art journal page with two cups of coffee using Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp Freshly Brewed Blueprint and the stenciled stain using Tim Holtz Mini Stencil Set 3.

I bound this 6" X 9"art journal with many pieces of watercolor color paper. The background of this page was colored using Tim Holtz Distress Spray, and stenciled using Tim Holtz Mini Stencil and Distress Paints. 

The cups were stamped 3 times in different colors of card stock, and cut the image on the black card stock for the lid, kraft paper for the holder, and Neenah Desert Storm card stock for the cup. I layered it using Tombow Adhesive Tab for dimension. 

Some great sentiments that I love were stamped with Tim Holtz Rubber Stamp and Simon Says Stamp black ink pad. 

I added some wood and metal embellishments for more interest. I really love the beautiful sprayed colors on the background and those cup images are fabulous for our theme this week. I hope you got a chance to create with us for this fun challenge. Can't wait to see what you create!

Mixed Media Card Sewing Edge Own Your Dreams

Hi, my lovely blog friends, welcome back of the new challenge this week! Our challenge theme at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is "YOU'VE GOT THE EDGE". Please focus on the edges of your creation and add some interest to them, There are so many ways to create on the edges- use die cut borders, distressing, embossing, inking, stitching or any other way to draw your eye to the edges of your project. I can't wait to see what you create. 

I made a mixed media card this week with distressed and sewed edges. I colored and stamped the card with Tim Holtz Oxide Reinkers and Oxide Ink Pads.

This card was cut from the white card stock and made 5.5" X4.25" card base. On a piece of slightly smaller watercolor paper, I colored the background with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Reinker and water mixture.  I also stamped the text print on the colored watercolor paper to create some patterns.  Then I sewed the colored watercolor paper on the card base. 

I layered and added some embellishments on the card using Tombow Mono Glue and Tab Adhesive. 

The sentiment was added with Tim Holtz Big Chat Stickers. On another piece of watercolor paper, I stamped my main sentiment using Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamp and Simon Says Stamp black ink pad. 

The next step was distressing the edges of the card! I also had some Oxide Reinker and water mixture randomly dropped on the card as the final touch.
