Mixed Media Art Journal Resist It

Hello, my dear crafty friends, welcome back to the new challenge. This week at  Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge our theme is "RESIST IT". I was inspired to create a mixed media art journal page using Stamperia Sea World Lady Stamps and colored it with Daniel Smith Watercolor. For the resist technique, Ranger Embossing Powder Clear and Tim HOltz Distress Micro Glaze were applied on the stamped images.

To start this project, I stamped the Sea Lady image, the sea shell  and sea stars with the black ink pad on the watercolor paper. After I heat embossed these images with the clear embossing powder, they were  colored using Daniel Smith watercolors and the watercolor brushes. 

After it was dry, I applied a thin layer of Tim Holtz Micro Glaze on these stamped images so when I colored the background, these images would resist the blue and green background colors. 

I randomly splattered some Gesso and water mixture on the page and wiped the Micro Glaze applied area on the Sea Lady image to remove the Gesso splatter. The resist technique also applied when I distressed the edges of the page with blending the blue ink pad over the Gesso splatter. Mixed Media Tag Be True to Your Heart Love

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge I was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Stamperia House of Roses Paper on the background and decorated it withTim Holtz Idea-Ology Found Relatives and Tim Holtz Sizzix Winged 3D Impresslits Cut and Emboss Folder.

I started this project by trimming the patterned paper from Stamperia House of Roses and pasted it on this size 8 tag. The tag was distressed with Distress Ink Pad and a blending tool. The paper doll was cut from Tim Holtz Found Relatives photo then attached the die cut wings. 

The heart was die cut and colored with red Distress Paint. The sentiments were added using Tim Holtz stickers and Quote Chip. I glued the roses and metal embellishments on this tag and splattered some Distress Paint randomly to finish off this project!
