Mixed Media Tag Masculine Hey Train Wreck

Hello, my lovely friends! Time flies and it's almost summer again. This week our family had a great time at our son's 8th grade recognition and cousin's graduation party. I hope you all had a great weekend, too. This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge our theme is "Masculine". I am looking forward to seeing your creation!

I was inspired to create a mixed media tag using Sizzix Die Gadget Gears and decorated with stamped image using Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamps Travel Ways. On the background of this size 8 tag, I first applied Dylusion Paint then a layer of the crackle paint. The edges of the tag were distressed with a black brush pen.

I die cut some gears using Sizzix Die Gadget Gears and Big Shot with a piece of chipboard. The gears were colored with Dylusion Paint and covered with the crackle paint, then adhered on the tag using Tombow Mono Glue.

The text print was stamped on a piece of white paper with Tim Holtz cling stamp and Simon Says Stamp black ink pad. The stamped paper was distressed on the edges using a blending tool and Distress Ink Pad. I layered it with a piece of torn corrugated paper on the tag. 

The last step to finish off the tag was adding the sentiment sticker. I really enjoy creating all these masculine elements on this project with the rusty effect and color scheme. Mixed Media Tag Song Inspiration ABBA LAY ALL YOUR LOVE ON ME

Hi, my awesome crafty friends, welcome back for the new challenge! I hope you all had a great weekend. Now, let's have fun and play the new challenge! Our theme at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge this week is "Inspired by a Song". I am sure that you at least have one favorite song. For me, I love almost all songs by ABBA. So for this week, I created a mixed media tag inspired by ABBA's "Lay All Your Love On Me" using Sizzix Lumber 3D Fades Embossing Folder for the texture on the background and embellished with Tim Holtz Scribbles and Splats Thinlets Die.

To start this project, I first embossed the tag using Sizzix Lumber 3D Fades Embossing Folder and Big Shot to create the texture on the background. The tag was colored with Dylusion Melted Chocolate with a brush pen, then distressed using a blender with Dylusion Ground Coffee. 

I found these two antique photos in my stash and colored their shirts with colored pencils and outlined the photos using a black pen. The heart embellishments and sentiments were added from Tim Holtz stickers and die cut using Tim Holtz Thinlits. 

The metal embellishment were colored with Dylusion paint and attached on the tag using Tombow Mono Glue. I randomly added some star sequins as the final touch. While I was making this tag, I watched and listened ABBA's music video and got inspired with the beautiful 80's style. I hope you will join us and share your favorite sone.
