Ode to Sunshine

Hello, my dear blog friends, welcome back to another new Simon Says Stamp
Monday Challenge. From the long days of summer to a beautiful sunset, butter to
golden yellow hues, this week’s challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
is an Ode to Sunshine. Our design team member Anna-Karin requested
a challenge that embraces the summer season and all things sunshine
– so let’s do it!

Enjoying the sunshine in the garden while reading a book or drinking a
cup of coffee is the best way to start off my day.
For the project this week, I used a wooden cradle board as the base and
covered it with Gesso and Faber-Castell Gelatos in various colors.
To make some beautiful texture on the background and edges, I used
modeling paste and stencils to add patterns.
The Tim Holtz Grungeboard Alphabets were glued on the background, colored with the
and VersaFine ink pad. There are some cute tiny dew drops from Robin's Nest to make
the morning sunshine even more wonderful and fresher.
then sprayed Color Shine on those embellishments to make the colors coordinate
the background.

Hope you enjoy the morning sunshine from my garden.

Supply List:
Stamp:
Tim Holtz Visual Artistry Purely Random Clear Stamp
Ink, Color & Medium:
Ranger Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber
Embellishments:
 Other Supplies:

Tag with Gelatos

Hello, blog friends, I'd like to share a tag I made for Faber-Castell
with some quick steps and fun techniques. I love the water color effect that
Gelatos made and they even made beautiful result on seam binding ribbon.

Here is how I made this colorful tag with Gelatos and PITT Big Brush Pens.

Apply various colors of Gelataos on to the craft sheet and mist the colors
with water. Press the tag onto the colors then dry it with a heat tool.

Add the images on the tag using PITT artist pen in Black and clear stamps.

Color the edges of the tag and images with PITT Big Brush Pens. Randomly
add some more texture and interest using Dabber and Gelatos. Apply some
Glaze on the image to make the shining effect.

Apply various colors of Gelatos on the craft sheet, mist with water, and
press the Seam Binding ribbon on to the color mixture. Crinckle the
ribbon and dry it with a heat tool.

Here is the close up photo of the beautiful colors of Gelatos and PITT artist pens.

If you are interested in the supplies I used on this project, please check here.

I share this project at: Artist in Blogland: Show and Tell Saturday and

Have a wonderful day!

Celebrate

Simon Monday Challenge BlogHello, my dear blog friends, welcome back! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Did you know that Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge blog has moved and had a new name? We are now Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenges but will still focus on the vintage, grungy, shabby, and funky side of the paper crafting world. We also have new design team members join us this week and this is going to be so much fun!

Simon Says Stamp and Show started the challenge blog three years ago, and now is still issuing weekly challenges and enjoying sharing creativity with all our wonderful crafters today! To celebrate, we are having a birthday inspired challenge this week! From balloons to cake, parties in general to birthdays in particular – the theme is one of celebration.

I was inspired by the theme and made this layout on the canvas for my son's 7th birthday.
It's our family tradition to celebrate kids' birthdays on birthday trips. This photo was taken on Christopher's 7th birthday. I cut and pasted a piece of designer paper from Bo Bunny Country Garden collection on this 8" X 10" canvas and sprayed the background with Heidi Swapp Color Shine.
The background also was covered with a thin layer of modeling paste on the edges. Then I decoratd the canvas with lace, Prima flowers, letter stickers and sequins.

Some beautiful Tim Holtz die cut Gadget Gears and Tim Holtz Idea-ology Baubles Pearls were glued around the photo. I also added stitching on the banners to make some interest. It's always so great to see kids smiling face and keep those beautiful moments.

Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $50 gift voucher that will go to a random entry chosen by Random Generator.  You might also be one of the spotlight designers on our Friday post. So please join us for this week's fun challenge. For more inspiration, please check all our fabulous desingers' creations at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

I really appreciate that you stopping by. Have a great day! :)

Good to be Green

This week at Simon Says Stamp and Show, we are having a "Green Project" -
from upcycling to playing with your favorite green ink pad - all about how
good it is to be green. I chose yellowish-green to interpret my ourdoor themed
layout for this challenge.
My daughter Natalie loves ourdoor activitis a lot so on this layout I used a photo
of her and two of her favorite colors - blue and green. The background of this
layout was colored using Ranger Adirondack Paint Dabber LETTUCE
and stamped with Clearsnap ColorBox pigment ink and Versafine Onyx Black.

I made a zipper flower and had some machine sewing stitches over the chipboard
letters that were dabbed with Ranger Dabbers in blue and yellow.

The background was stamped using bubble wrap and Gesso. I also pasted some
washi tapes to make it more fun. The beautiful green on this layout reminds
us of the great time we had in Austin.

Please join us for this fun challenge whether you want to use something that is garbage on a project, be inspired to be environmentally friendly, or if you want to play with the color.
As always, Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $50 gift voucher to a random winner and it might be you. Or you might be choosen as one of our Spotlight Designers on Friday. To qualify all you need to do is create a new project and join us!

Friends

Hello, my friends, today I 'd like to share a project I made for Clearsnap
using Scor-Pal. I've had so much fun playing with Scor-Pal and made many
boxes and folded cards. This gift card/ticket holder is one of my favorite creations.

The front of the card holder was layered with 3 pieces of designer paper
and the edges of each layers were inked with Mix'd Media Inx.
I sewed the layers and decorated the front with pearl embellishments and Prima
flowers. I inked the edges of the label with watermark Ink and heat embossed
the edges with Mix'd Media Inx Embossing Powder. Then I stamped the
sentimenet using Mix'd Media Inx Chox Ink pad and Hero Arts clear stamp.

There are two pockets inside the card holder. Here are the quick steps to show
you how I made this project.

Take a piece of 8.5" X 11" patterned paper. Score on 4.25" on 8.5" side.

Score on 5.5" on 11" side.

Cut the 5.5" scored line from 4.25" all the way down.

Rotate the paper so that the cut line is on the left side.
Fold the lower right corner as shown below.

Fold the lower left part over the lower right part.

Fold the corner as shown below.

Apply the Scor-Tape on the two sides of the folded part.

Fold this part over to the upper right part.

Then fold these two parts together.

This the inside look of the card holder.

For more details of the supplies I used on this project, please check Clearsnap blog.
Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful day! :)

Tell Your Story

Hi, friends, welcome back to my blog! Hope you all had a great weekend. I've
enjoyed a wonderful July 4th and weekend with fairly nice weather here in Dallas.
Today, we have a new challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show. We challenge

some flowers using Tim Holtz Sizzix Die Tattered Florals Bigz Die.

I stamped some small text and images using Tim Holtz stampStamendous clear stamp
and 7 gypsies cling stmap with VersaFine Ink and Clearsnap fluid chalk ink on the
background. This photo was taken on Natalie's 10th birthday so I also stamped the
date using Dear Lizzy Roller Date Stamp. Here are some more close-ups.

Follow Your Heart

Hello, my blog friends. Hope you all enjoy your week so far. Today, I'd like
to share a project I made for Faber-Castell using some materials and scraps left
on my desk. I colored this project with my favorite Faber-Castell products
and it turned out a cute little tag and I love it.

This is a 6" X 2.75" watercolor paper tag. I apply the Gelatos on the craft sheet
and spary water to mix it. Press the tag face down on to the Gelatos mixture.

After drying the tag with the heat tool, I apply Gelatos on the stamp, spritz with
water and stamp it on the tag.

After drying it, I cover the stamped background with a thin layer of Gesso to make
the color softer.

Apply Gelatos on a piece of kraft resist paper and use wet pen brush to
blend the color.

I cover 3 pieces of triangle chipboard banner using Gesso and color them
using 3 shades of blue Gelatos.

Add some interest on the banner using Artist's Big Brush Pen white and sequin
waste. After assembling all this elements and adding more embellishments I dab
some Gesso randomly as final touch.

Here is the finished tag.

Please check Faber-Castell blog for more details about the supplies I used on
this tag. Thank you so much for stopping by. Hope you all have a great day! ^_^
