Listen to Your Heart

Happy Monday, my blog friends. Hope you all had a great weekend.
Wow... can't believe it's July already. For this new month, we are having a
week of  anything goes” here at Simon Says Stamp and Show!
Our family visited Perot Museum at Dallas recently and enjoyed it a lot.
I was inspired by my favorite exhibit -  Rose Hall of Birds so on this week
for Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge, I'll just let my imagination fly
with this cute little birdhouse.

I love anything goes challenge and let my imagination fly. I've imagined a
birdhouse with wings would fly to wherever the bird family goes.

This birdhouse was covered with Crackle Paint and decorated with die cuts
using Tim Holtz dies and Tim Holtz metal embellishments. All the die cuts
were also covered with different colors of Crackle Paint.
Simon Says Stamp is giving away a $50 gift voucher that will go to a random entry so please join us for this weeks fun challenge. We will also have several entries on the spotlight in our Friday winner posts! The selected entries will be linked to and receive a special badge to display on your blog. What an exciting feature! Please share us your projects or tutorials. We'd love to see it!

I really appreciate that you stop by and hope you have a wonderful day!

Be You

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Hello, my blog friends. Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Today, I'd like to
share my first project for Simon Says Stamp and Show and I am so excited.
Our talented team member Dan has suggested both stripes and plaid challenges
so we want to see your project that is inspired by stripes or plaid, or use striped
(or plaid) paper or product on your crafting project.

For my take on this challenge, I made this layout for Christopher's school open
house day using Bo Bunny Weekend Market paper collection which I think is
perfect for a boy layout. I first sprayed the background using the Tim Holtz gear
die cuts as stencil with ColorShine.

Then I added the stripes patterned paper and some cut outs from the
Weekend Market collection. After sewing and placing threads,
I decorated this layout with some more Tim Holtz metal embellishments
and Prima flowers
To make it more interesting, I stamped some text randomly on the background.

I hope you can join us and share your creation that inspired by stripes or plaid at
Simon Says Stamp and Show with us.  You might be the lucky winner of a
$50 dollar store voucher to be used in the Simon Says Stamp Superstore.

I really appreciate that you stop by. Hope you have a wonderful day!

Summer Fun Frame

Hello, my blog friends, happy Sunday! I am so happy to share a great news
with you that I just join the design team of Simon Says Stamp and Show.
I'll be playing the fun challenges every Monday and hope you will join me.

I'd also like to share a project I made for Faber-Castell. I have taken many
photos of kids at their summer activities and I am going to use this frame
for one of those photos.

Here are some steps to show you how I made this frame.  First, I covered this
8" x 10" chipboard frame with wrapping tissue using Gel Medium then colored
the frame with Gelatos.

After drying the colored background with the heat tool, I used modeling paste
and stencil to make some dimensional images and I colored those images
with Stamper's Big Brush Pens.

I also used stamps and Stamper's Big Brush Pens to add some lines and dots
randomly to make this frame more interesting and colorful.

Paper Craft Crayons are great to make texture and shade.

The last step is using PITT artist pen to outline the images then applying Glaze
on the images to add a beautiful sheen.

Here are some close-up photos.

I share my project at: Creative Every Day, Paint Party Friday and
Artists in Blogland - Show & Tell Saturday. For the supply list of this project,
please check Faber-Castell.

I hope you get a chance to use these great coloring products and make
something fun for this summer. Thank you so much for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day!

Look into Your Heart

Hello, my blog friends, happy Sunday and happy Father's day. It's been a
very busy week that I spend most of my time with kids and their activities
and didn't get much time for crafting and blogging.
Today, I'd like to share my DT layout made before last week for my
favorite challenge - Scrap and Music. Let's listen to this music
for the challenge theme - I am yours by Jason Marz.

I was inspired by the happy advanture theme in this song and the part
of lyric "Look into your heart and you’ll find that the sky is yours".

The beautiful paper on this layout is from Bo Bunny Weekend Market collection.
I decorated it with some Tim Holtz gear die cuts and metal embellishments. And
machine sewing is a must have on most of my projects. Here is the sketch to make
 this layout.
Due to 12th June

Sketch #4 by Janice Daquila-Pardo

I'm Yours (Jason Mraz)

Well you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried beat but you're so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks, now I'm trying to get back
Before the cool done run out, I'll be giving it my bestest
And Nothings going to stop me but divine intervention
I reckon it's again my turn to win some or learn some
But I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yours
Well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find love, love, love
Listen to the music of the moment people dance and sing
We're just one big family, and
It's our god-forsaken right to be loved, love, loved, love, loved
So I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure
There's no need to complicate, our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours
D-d-do you, but you, d-d-do
But do you want to come on
Scooch on over closer dear
And I will nibble your ear
I've been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and laughed
I guess what I'm saying is there ain't no better reason
To rid yourself of vanities and just go with the seasons
It's what we aim to do, our name is our virtue
But I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm yours
Come on and open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find that the sky is yours
So please don't, please don't, please don't
There's no need to complicate
Cause our time is short
This is, this is, this is our fate, I'm yours!
I hope you will join us for this fun challenge. For more inspiration, please

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful day! ^_^

Cherish

Hi! My blog friends, welcome come back. It's time for party at
Make It Monday. Before sharing my project, I'd like to say thank
you to Michelle, the owner of Make It Monday linky party, and all
my greatest teamies for the great time I had with them on the team in
the past year. This is my last post for MIM party and I'll step down from
this great team because I'll make more scrapbooks and mixed media
works in the future. And this probably will take most of my craft time.
I am sure I'll be playing with my Copic Markers and digi images again.

Back to my project, this week I used A Child's Garden of Verses
digi image from Nicecrane Designs to make this project. I purchased this
frame at Marshalls last week and I think it's perfect for this image.

The image was colored with Copic Markers and I added some pearl
gems and a epoxy sticker from Creative Imaginations on the frame.

Altered Canvas Clock

Hello, my friends, happy Sunday! Today, I'd like to share my project
using some awesome products from Faber-Castell and you may check
all the quick steps and the supplies I used over at Faber-Castell blog.

Here are some steps to show you how I made this project.
The burlap canvas I used here is 6" X 6" so I cut the water color paper into 5.5" X 5.5".

After roughly drawing a cupcake sketch, I started to color it with Gelatos.

Use darker color Gelatos to shade and outline the image and background.

I used Gesso to soften the background and image colors and randomly stamped some text
using Stamper's Big Brush Pen on the edges. Then I stamped the sentiment on the white card
stock, cut and pasted it on the cupcake image.

After pasting this piece of water color paper on the canvas using Gel Medium, I
used Glaze to cover the surface. After it was dry, I installed the colck set on the canvas.

Here is the final look of the altered canvas clock.

I also share my project at Creative Everyday, Artists in Blogland, and Paint Party Friday.
Hope you'll get a chance to create or alter something using these fun
techniques and the awesome Faber-Castell products. See you next time!

S is for See

Made this album for my mixed media works. This week the challege theme
at Simon Says Stamp and Show is "letter S". For me, S is for SEE. I've been
suffering from some eye problems for many years, so seeing clearly is always
the happiest thing to me.
This album is 6" X 6". The cover paper and inside pages are from Bo Bunny
Country Garden collection. I Use Tim Holtz gears, metal embellishments
and Prima light bulb to decorate the cover. The background was colored with
Color Shine. Here are some more details.

Love the sentiment - Create the world you want to see"

The second project I'd like to share is this card that is made for the
challenge at Mojo Monday and The Shabby Tea Room this week.
The paper and stickers I used here are from Bo Bunny Country Garden.
Other supplies:  Recollection flower and leaves and Kaiser wood veneer.

I am working on my Faber-Castell design team project and these are what
on  my desk currently. Please check WOYWW for more crafters' desks
around the world and see what fun projects they have been working on.

Thank you for stopping by. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Pin ItOn this layout, I used washi tapes and Color Shine to decorate the background.
