Stamp Out 2013

Hi, my dear blog friends, this will be the final challenge of 2013 for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog, and I hope you’ll join us! The challenge is a simple one: Use a Stamp! Use any stamp -- Background, sentiment, big, or small – all stamping is welcome on our challenge this week!

I was inspired to create a mixed media canvas wall decor with my favorite sentiments.

I love the sentiments on Tim Holtz Cling Rubber Stamps because they always encourage me to create something unique and be myself.

To start this project, I prepared four 3" X 6" acrylic paper tags painted with black chalkboard paint on the background.

I stamped these sentiments with white pigment ink pad on the second tag from the left then stamped with watermark ink and heat set with embossing powder on the last tag. These white stamped sentiments look awesome with the contrast on the black chalkboard tags.

On the first tag from the left, I stenciled the swirl dot pattern with Colorbox Art Screen and modeling paste. I also used checker pattern duct tape on two tags.  Many Prima Flower metal embellishments were used on these tags too.

The background of the canvas were colored with Distress Ink and water. To make the dimension, I cut and pasted the foam board on these tags.

I really enjoyed the creating process of using these mixed media elements and love the contemporary look of the result.

  4. Meihsia...your tag board is so cool! I love the yellow and white background and then the black and white tags popped on top! WOW! They really pop! And the third tag, with its pop of teal and pink really stand out! The white sentiments and images on the tags look amazing! I also love the addition of the metal elements. They add such nice dimension and interest to your already beautiful tags.

  14. Hello MEIHSIA
Well once again you WoW me with your creativity, your design is unique as is the colour palette...the canvas is just fabulous, it relates drama and interest, juxtaposing hard and soft elements to the piece and making them work is difficult to do, but you have succeeded beautifully. This piece would certainly catch the eye of any onlooker.
    Merry Christmas,
    Smiles:)
