OCC Make Over

Hi, friends, happy Saturday! Okay, it's not Monday yet,
but I am going to make a Mojo Monday card today.
We have a very interesting challenge this week at
Our Creative Corner which is Make Over hosted by Lori Rider.
Lori asks us to find an old card then choose one or two things
about it that you *do* like and use those on a new card.
Maybe it’s the layout, the colors, a technique you used or anything.
Please remember to show us the old card
so we can see how far you’ve come!

The card I picked to make over was made not long time ago
that I followed Mojo Monday sketch 248
and Shabby Tea Room photo and color inspiration.
I do love Mojo's sketch and would like to make another
card according to that sketch. Here is my old card that also
followed Shabby Tea Room's color and photo inspiration.

This is the Mojo Monday's sketch 248.
And here is my new card that I use the same sketch and my
favorite colors but not Shabby Tea Room's color combo.
Although my kids told me they prefer the old card for colors,
I love my new card for the contrast of the feminine color scheme
to the leather-like roses and metal embellishments on this new card.

  3. Girl..you can rock a card! This is shabby to the max and how in the world did you make those roses? Did you make them? What did you use? Those are incredible! I personally loved the original, but I can also see so much for wisdom and depth to the remake. Beautiful card Meihsia. :)

  5. Hello Meihsia
Well I was going to ask how you made those Roses too... Now I know.
I love the remake, to my eye it is more balanced, the colour palette is soft and subtle, and you have created a wonderful contrast in textures by using metal embellishments, it is not all melting into each other. A great remake.
    Smiles:)
