Memories

Hi,friends. Happy Saturday!
This week the challenge at Our Creative Corner is
hosted by our talented designer Susan Butler (aka Scrumplescrunch)
and the theme is 'Shabby Chic'.
This means the shabby part of Vintage.
The challenge requires you to pull elements together,
the more old/worn and distressed the elements/images the better;
think of muted colours, layers, roses, burlap and pearls.
You do not have to use all of these elements.
The effect you are aiming for is a soft warm palette.
Here is my take on it.

Paper: My Mind's Eye Lost & Found,
           Recollections Cardstock,
           the Girls' Paperie Vintage Whimsy
Accessories: Prima Flowers,
           the Girls' Paperie label Holder,
Say It in Crystals, the Girls' Paperie
           Vintage Button,
           Explorer by Traditions Charms,
           the Paper Studio Ribbon

  2. Hello Meihsia.
You have such softness in all your cards, and your design on this one is just beautiful. Your script on the background with your Bling connects to your flower, then the eye falls to the lace trim, and the texture of your burlap behind the sentiment adds another tactile quality, but THEN you add metal charms, which adds solidity and movement. Just love it Meihsia.

  4. Awesome job Meihsia! I love how you softened the background with gesso or white acrylic paint! You always do such a beautiful job with shabby. Your soft pink color palette and lovely lace and burlap are the perfect backdrop for that beautiful flower and vintage style button.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

    Hugs,
    Linda
